To the Continent we go

For the last couple of days we have taken things fairly quietly as we were both suffering from PMSS (Post Museum Stress Syndrome). I got stuck into some work whilst Emma got tangled up in her yoga. We did make a few unguided shopping trips into London City which turned out very good. We visited the Queen for morning tea and explored the shops around the Piccadilly and Tottenham Court areas.

The imaginatively named Green Park

We are not getting any sleep tonight because at 10:30pm we catch the last train out of Denmark Hill station to London on our way to Stansted Airport. Our flight to Frankfurt does not leave until 7:20am but as the rail and underground system shuts down at 12:00am and does not start till 6:00am we are having to spend the night at the airport. In preparation we have both bought books to read and plenty of food. In the future we have vowed to pay a little more than 2.99 for the flights in order to get some sleep the previous night.

Internet access will be sporadic in Europe as I am leaving the laptop in London rather than risk it on the streets of Prague. Our trip lasts for eighteen days and will be action packed as during that time we will be traveling through  northern/eastern Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic. We have rail passes so our plans are fairly loose but Emma has put together a rough plan of action. We are meeting Emmas sister at Frankfurt (she is flying in via Tokyo tomorrow) so our first day in Europe should be fairly quiet as we all get over mild sleep deprivation. I have been told many times where we are going but I never remember. The trip king of goes like this: Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Munich, Salzburg, Vienna.... and then my eyes cloud over and I start thinking of what is for dinner. It should be great though as we get to go on heaps of train rides and look at lots of buildings (just dont mention the war).
